Big Bang Sensational Gospel Sung In Three Part Harmony
Big Bang may seem like an odd name for a gospel band, but it is nor better or worse than any other name. The name certainly works a lot better than many of the names used by pop and rock bands of the modern era. A listener does not need to know the band name to enjoy the band’s music. If he does know the name of a band, he can seek out its music more easily after he has heard it a single time. Three part harmonies are not common in music anymore. Pop music bands usually have a singer, a guitarist, a bass guitarist and a drum.
The Big Bang Gospel project is a choir consisting of about 180 members. The members spend months training so they can raise their voices in harmony together. The only problem that an English speaker might have with the group is that its web pages and Facebook pages do not seem to be written in English. The language might be Spanish although it is hard to tell. Google’s translation feature can sort many of the issues out. The language problem is not insurmountable. Someone who wants to know where they have performed just needs to search for city names.
Neither the language the group uses nor its name tell a person what it sounds like. If someone wants to hear how this group achieves its incredible three part harmonies, it needs to find a performance of the group in concert. Fans of the group have placed videos of the Big Bang Gospel group on YouTube. The group has performed many gospel favorites in many different languages. It rivals the Mormon Tabernacle in quality. Unlike the Tabernacle Choir, the Big Bang Gospel choir does not rely on grandeur or overstatement to have an impact on its listeners.
